Melinda originally started out on the classical side of music down in Cypress, TX. She played the flute in Middle School and High School, and later attended Baylor University on music scholarships where she received a Bachelor of Music Education degree. She played and sang in a couple church praise bands throughout that time, as well as taught music lessons in the evenings. She eventually started branching out more on the Commercial side and singing around town with some local Country Bands. During that time she picked up bass guitar and started playing with the Sul Ross Band, where they had the pleasure of opening for artists such as No Justice, Kyle Park, and Cody Johnson Band. In September of 2014 Melinda decided to put down the bass guitar and pursue singing lead full time. She started an acoustic act called Station Creek with her on vocals and Curtis Bell on guitar. In June of 2015 Station Creek became full band and went on to open for larger name artists such as Jonny Burke, Adam Hood, Bri Bagwell, and Roger Creager. In November of 2017 she picked up acoustic guitar and began focusing more on her songwriting as a solo artist. She calls it "still finding herself" and will tell you that "it's a constant work in progress." Since then she has had the opportunity to open for Adam Hood, Mike and the Moonpies, Dalton Domino, and Ted Nugent. Melinda's influences include Patsy Cline, Linda Ronstadt, Melissa Etheridge, and many more. She has a love for music that outweighs just about anything else, and she does her best to portray that when singing.
