Howard Shaft is actually out of the college town in Ruston, LA where they got their name from being "shafted" in a talent show at the Howard auditorium at LA Tech! A very talented group of musicians, they joined another band, "Blue Monday," to become "Blue Monday and the Howard Shaft Horns" only to later split off to become simply "Howard Shaft" with several other area musicians.
