Join Michael Martin Murphey for a special night of music and musings at the Koshare Kiva Museum in La Junta, CO. The Santa Fe Trail’s Bicentennial continues with the SFTA Symposium hosted by the Bent's Fort SFTA Chapter and Old Bent's Fort NHS, September 23 - 26 in La Junta, CO. Murph is the Honorary Chair for the Santa Fe Trail 200 and will be telling stories and sharing songs that commemorate not only the Trail’s history, but celebrate the Old West. Koshare Kiva is an amazing Native American Museum and our performance will be in what is considered to be the world’s largest self supported log ceiling structure.

MICHAEL MARTIN MURPHEY
A devoted environmentalist and ranching advocated, the multi-Grammy nominee, Murphey is perhaps best known for a slew of hits that have for the past 50 years topped Pop, Country, Western and Bluegrass Music charts. Among his best known hits include “Wildfire,” “Carolina In The Pines,” “What’s Forever For,” “Cowboy Logic,” “Long Line of Love,” “I’m Gonna Miss You Girl,” among others.

His songs have been covered by other beloved artists including Kenny Rogers, John Denver, Lovett, Roger Miller, Cher, Hoyt Axton and many more. Murphey is a native Texan who is now in the Western Music Hall of Fame and has also been recognized and awarded by notable organizations such as the National Cowboy Hall of Fame, the Academy of Country Music, The Grammy Awards, the Country Music Association, and the Texas Music Awards.
