The Human Condition: We're Still Not There Yet!

February 8th, 2025 - 7:00PM

Jeff Allen’s 2025 tour blends his signature standup comedy with a heartfelt message. In the first half, Jeff’s rapid-fire humor covers everything from marriage to family life, showcasing the same wit that has earned him nearly a billion views on Dry Bar Comedy. The second half takes a deeper turn, inspired by his book Are We There Yet?, where Jeff shares his personal journey from dark times to redemption.

This tour is more than just laughs—it’s about hope, healing, and making a difference. Jeff’s mission statement is Tikkun Olam, a Hebrew phrase meaning "Repairing the World." His goal is simple: “I want to make a difference that outlives the tour… that outlives me.”

 JEFF ALLEN

Jeff Allen’s rapid-fire, clean comedy about marriage and family life has made him a favorite with audiences of all ages. His five Dry Bar Comedy specials have racked up nearly a billion views, and he's appeared on major platforms like America’s Got Talent, Netflix, Amazon, Huckabee, PureFlix, Showtime, Comedy Central, and VH1.

Jeff has starred in the critically acclaimed film Apostles of Comedy, the syndicated comedy series Bananas, his own special Happy Wife, Happy Life, and the Warner Bros. film Thou Shalt Laugh. He’s also performed at top festivals like Just For Laughs in Montreal and HBO’s Aspen Comedy Arts Festival.
But Jeff isn’t just about laughs—his personal journey of recovery and redemption adds depth to his comedy. Whether through humor or heart, Jeff’s mission is to leave a lasting impact that goes beyond the stage.

Old Town Theatre

The Friends of Old Town Theatre project was first organized in 1997 as a community non-profit, dedicated to the restoration and reopening of Huntsville's Old Town Theatre on the downtown square. The building had served in its earliest years as a downtown movie theater. When the organization acquired the building, it was in severe disrepair, and the long and grueling process of rebuilding began.

Friends President Gene Myrick and his board members worked tirelessly with the help of a small band of friends and supporters to gather community donations and arts and foundation grants funding, and construction began. The theater received a generous donation in 2001, one year after opening, from the late LuEllen Gibbs, an early supporter and friend to the project, and the title of J. Philip Gibbs, Jr., Centre for the Performing Arts was added to its name.

Today the theater hosts music performances, dramatic and musical theater, dance, film and community events. It is home to Community Theatre and the Sam Houston Classic Film Series.

We are proud to offer the theatre to the community as a downtown venue for the arts, and we welcome everyone to join us as we continue to provide the families and children of our community with quality entertainment and education in the arts. Thank you for your support!
