Murchison Volunteer Fire Dept. Music Benefit 2011
3356 Highway 31 East
Athens, Texas 75751

Murchison Volunteer Fire Department is an all volunteer fire and rescue department with an annual operating budget of $50 - $60K per year. We receive a small stipend from the County of approximately $10K and the remaining monies are made through various fund raisers. Due to the economic state, donations are down significantly.

To adjust to this decline, we have decided to go outside the box and have a fun filled event that brings not only monetary gain to the department, but also an entertainment factor to our County and surrounding Counties. This too indirectly results in an economic boost to the local business in Athens and surrounding cities, as well as promoting your business. We are the benefactor of the first annual “Cody Riley Band Presents Murchison Volunteer Fire Dept. Music Benefit 2011” featuring David Grace, Cody Riley, Brandon Jenkins, Fred Andrews & Honeybrowne, and headlining Bart Crow to finish up. This is an outside, “Woodstock” event. It will be held at the Henderson County Fairgrounds off State Hwy. 31 just east of the Athens city limits, on July 3rd. The concert will begin at 4:00 pm and end around midnight.

Some of our major sponsors are KNUE 101.5, Outback Steakhouse; who will be cooking sirloin burgers on-site, the Athens Chamber of Commerce, with many other negotiations underway. We respectfully request the addition of your company to participate with a sponsorship to help guarantee this to be a very successful event. We will work with your company to make sure it is a “win win” partnership for us all.

Monies gained are used to support our mission of saving lives and property. To do this, we must have operational fire apparatus to provide fire suppression, safety equipment, tools, maintenance abilities, fire stations and additions, emergency medical services, and training certifications; schools for all aspects of the job. We respond to an average of 400 calls per year and together with your contribution we can continue to make a difference. Over 85% of all Fire and First Responder services throughout Texas and the U.S. are voluntary, and this is who we are. Please see the sponsorship list attached. Thank you in advance for your gift to help us help you.
