Emerging country singer/songwriter Matt Castillo released his new single “Go Get Her” today. Co-written with Grammy-nominated hitmakers Ryan Tyndell and Jeff Hyde, the uptempo track evokes neo-traditional country in its purest form with tinges of Castillo’s South Texas influences. Recorded at Tommy’s Dungeon in Nashville, TN the track was produced by notable Nashville songwriter Roger Brown whose catalog has been covered by an arsenal of legends and country superstars including George Strait, Barbara Streisand, Kenny Chesney, Randy Travis, Wiilie Nelson and Nanci Griffith. “Go Get Her”; is available on all streaming platforms.
“I really enjoyed writing “Go Get Her” with Ryan [Tyndell] and Jeff [Hyde],” says Castillo. “It’s a great fusion of my south Texas up bringing and my love for 90’s country. I hope people enjoy it.”
The release of “Go Get Her” comes on the heels of Castillo’s second #1 single (“Corazon”) on the Texas Regional Radio Report (TRRR), which Billboard called a “must-hear new country song.” It’s featured on Castillo’s 2022 EP ‘The River Continues,’ a continuation of his critically lauded solo debut ‘How The River Flows.’ Castillo is currently in the studio working on his next album and has a full slate of summer tour dates confirmed. Without the benefit of mainstream promotion, Castillo’s first two studio albums, ‘Small Town Stories’ (2014) and ‘Still Sane’ (2017), established Castillo and his former band (Matt and The Herdsmen) as a popular presence in Texas clubs and online. Castillo has quickly earned his spot as an artist to watch having recently earned his first #1 single (“Cause He’s A Cowboy”) on the Texas Regional Radio Report (TRRR). The single’s scenic video, featured on CMT.com, was directed by Paul De La Cerda and filmed throughout Central Texas in San Marcos, Kingsbury and Luling. Earlier this summer, Castillo made his national TV debut on syndicated music series Texas Music Scene.
