Ever since he was a child, Drake Hayes has loved music. The second-oldest out of four children, he began experimenting with music in his youth, forming the Rock N Roll cover band "Broken". When he graduated from Roosevelt High School in 2007, he took the next step in his music career. He got started performing across Texas playing bass guitar for professional touring acts such as Matt Kimbrow and Mark McKinney. With influences that include Garth Brooks, Chris Knight, & Randy Rogers, he began writing his own songs and got the inspiration to go out on his own.
After forming the "Drake Hayes Band" in 2014, he released his first EP "The One" in July 2015. The album would go on to spawn his first single "I Think I Love Her", which charted as high as #54 on the Texas Music Charts. His followup release "Grow Old With You" was released in February of 2017 and was a Top 30 hit on the Texas Charts. This track was also one of the Top 5 most requested songs in Lubbock and is currently featured on the 2017 Lubbock Music Now album. Drake’s latest single "Nowhere, TX" is also climbing the charts fast.
The Drake Hayes Band has shared the stage with Casey Donahew, Kevin Fowler, Joe Dee Messina, Koe Wetzel, Shane Smith & The Saints, Flatland Cavalry, Kaitlin Butts, Cooder Graw and many more. They are currently sponsored by Lone Star Beer and have tours all over Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Colorado, Louisiana, Kansas and beyond.
Today Drake Hayes spends his time traveling with his band and honing his songwriting skills as he chases his dream.
