Seven Miles South formed in the Summer of 2010 in the small town of Dimmitt, in an area defined by big sky and flat land. That open, slow living Texas atmosphere, centralized between, but detached from, the cities of Amarillo and Lubbock, spawned an unrestricted and defiantly creative approach to what one band felt their own take on Texas Music could be. Established by songwriting team Chase Hatla and Anthony Enriquez, Seven Miles South approaches the Texas music scene with the combined mindset of two schools of thought - a fine-toothed focus on storytelling often reserved for folk or classic outlaw country, and an unapologetic respect for the art of commercial melody displayed in the dominant genres of pop rock and mainstream country.
